Peace is no Utopia. It's Everyday. Everywhere.

Peace.Isn’t.Quiet is an annual day-long music festival to promote peace, community, understanding, and the arts in our communities.  Join us for a full day of active and creative peace-building in this noon ‘til dusk fest full of musicians, dancers, slam and other poetry, other performances... recycled art, button making, native-american storytelling, free condoms and safe-sex education, drumming circles, hand-made merchandise, local food and goods... a clothing swap/alteration station... jewelry and other artsy stuff, free hugs, a kissing booth and a confession booth... sidewalk chalk, face painting, bubble-blowing, sparkles... nonsensical fun... and last but not least, maybe even a guest appearance by the 'spice girls' :o) and, NEW this year! We will be kicking off the festival with the annual campus greens/AID sustainable picnic and solar cookie-baking contest at noon!

Peace.Isn't.Quiet is about more than peace. It's about Inclusivity. Awareness. Love. Understanding. Expression. Music. Words. Articulation. Community. Singing. Dancing. Friends. Beauty. Laughter. To quote one of our co-organizers: "So often, we have heard that Peace with the big P is some utopia, the nature of man is war and animosity. Well, we dissent! Our nature wants to come together... We want kindness. We want Change with a big C- the kind that's not attached to a campaign or a president- but to Community and Compassion..." (martini, pg 14).
